David Pippen received his BS in Mathematics from Hardin Simmons University and his MS in Electrical Engineering from New Mexico State University. After serving in the US Army and working for the Department of Defense, in 1971 he became the Laboratories Office Chief at NASA's White Sands Test Facility (WSTF), a position he held for eighteen years until his retirement in 1990. During that time, Mr. Pippen was responsible for establishing the laboratory and designing, developing, and activating state-of-the-art materials and components test methodology. He was responsible for performing tests in spacecraft environments for international governments and industrial clients.

In 1991, Mr. Pippen became an Assistant College Professor at New Mexico State University with the major responsibility of instructing junior and senior level capstone electronics analog design courses. He was the recipient of many awards including the coveted NASA Medal for Outstanding Leadership and The Frank Bromilow Outstanding Teacher Award.

Mr. Pippen has been a valued consultant for WHA, Inc. since 1993. His expertise is in the areas of failure modes and effects analysis of electrical/electronic components and systems with emphasis on electrical heating products and component/materials failures due to electrostatic and high voltage discharges. He also provides research, design, and fabrication of specialized one-of-a-kind electronic test equipment for the company.
