Jack Stradling

Jack Stradling received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State University in 1966. After graduation, he was employed at NASA's White Sands Test Facility (WSTF) as a Propulsion Test Engineer. In 1969 Jack was promoted to Test Operations Director. Subsequent job assignments included Materials Test Laboratory Manager and Acting Chief of the Laboratories Office.
During his distinguished career, Jack was instrumental in developing the state-of-the-art materials and components test facility at WSTF. He also developed many of the standard materials test methods in use by NASA and private industry. He authored many materials test presentations which were presented to foreign and national entities including ASTM. Jack was considered a foremost expert in non-metallic materials test technology. He retired from NASA in 1992.
Since 1993, Jack has been self-employed as a consultant in the areas of research, design, fabrication and prototyping of unique test equipment for use in the WHA Test Facilities. He also provides machining support to WHA for test system equipment and hardware as well as facility maintenance support for various systems. He regularly consults on many of the new and ongoing projects that WHA supports.
Jack has continued to co-author specialized engineering papers and articles. He has received numerous awards from NASA and currently holds a State of New Mexico General Building Certificate of Qualification and GB98 License.
