John Minor received his BS from A&M College of Texas, his MSCE from the University of Arkansas and his Ph.D. from Rice University. As a Registered Professional Engineer (Ret.), Dr. Minor consults with WHA in the areas of civil structural engineering, failure analysis and materials.
Dr. Minor is a Professor Emeritus in Civil Engineering at New Mexico State University (NMSU), but his expertise in structural design and failure analysis is backed by extensive engineering endeavors beyond the university environment.
He has worked as an Engineering Inspector for the United States Parks Service, and as a research and design structural engineer for Potlach Forest Inc. Research Laboratory.
Dr. Minor has served as the Director of the New Mexico Center for Transportation Research as well as being a consultant for the New Mexico State Highway Department. He has worked with the U.S. Corps of Engineers/Structural Division, the Louisiana Department of Transportation, the Nebraska Bureau of Roads and in the Military Traffic Material Command Transportation Engineering Agency.
Complementing his broad background as an outstanding civil engineer, Dr. Minor has published numerous field-specific articles and has participated in a variety of professional and honor societies.
