Oxygen Clean Inspection Kit
These kits are specially-designed to assist personnel in the inspection of oxygen system piping and equipment for contaminants, including non-volitile residues (NVR, such as hydrocarbon-based oils and greases) and particulate, using methods consistent with the best industry practice for industrial oxygen piping.* All kits are assembled by oxygen system specialists and shipped in a heavy-duty, water-tight carrying case. We provide several options below so that the kit will best meet your needs. We would be happy to provide further customization if the options below are not a perfect fit. What's in the kit?
All kits are equipped with tools to inspect oxygen system piping and equipment for contaminants, specifically non-volatile residues (NVR, such as hydrocarbon-based oils and greases) and particulate, using methods consistent with the best industry practice for industrial oxygen piping.* Each kit comes complete with standard tools for inspecting oxygen piping and equipment using the qualitative visual inspection methods of white light, black (UV) light, wipe tests, and water break tests. A custom-made inspection cover made of light-blocking fabric is included for more effective black light field inspections.
WHA also outfits each kit with tools for performing solvent extraction tests that can be used for either qualitative or quantitative verification depending on the application. »Kit provides solvent sample for visual comparison but requires user to provide solvent for performing actual verification. Sample is for demonstration purposes only.
The kits also include standard personal protective equipment (PPE) for handling oxygen clean hardware and mild chemical solvents.
Finally, all of the tools and equipment supplied in each WHA Oxygen Clean Inspection & Verification Kit come packaged in a water-proof, heavy-duty case for protection. (see essentials kit contents)
Shipping
Shipping varies according to delivery address and shipping speed. Estimated weight is 50 lbs.
What are calibration tools?
As an option to use for "calibrating" or training personnel who will be performing visual inspections on oxygen piping and equipment, WHA supplies both NVR and particulate contaminant calibration tools in the kit. For calibrating personnel on NVR levels, WHA prepares small stainless steel and carbon steel coupons consistent ASTM standards** that are contaminated with known levels of different hydrocarbon-based greases to provide personnel a calibrated sample to perform white and black light visual inspections. Also provided are known sizes of stainless steel and iron particulate, some concentrated on the NVR coupons, some in separate containers, for visual calibration of particulate using white light. (see calibration tools contents)

Why order the portable darkroom?
Upgrade to the portable, yet more permanent darkroom to optimize black light inspection. All standard kits include a custom-made black light inspection cover, but the darkroom will create an enclosed environment void of white light for higher quality visual inspections. While sturdy enough to accept power (for additional lighting), this darkroom also folds into a tote bag for the next job. The darkroom is available in our PLUS kits: Essentials+ or Premium+
- semi-permanent
- fits one or more inspectors
- creates weather-proof environment
- accepts electrical
How do I use the kit?
We also offer the Visual Inspection for Oxygen Piping & Equipment course. It provides practical "how-to's" regarding our oxygen clean methodology. We teach white light and black light visual inspection techniques along with the most widely used acceptance criteria from CGA G-4.1 and EIGA IGC 33-06.
