Gwenael Chiffoleau obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and Space and a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Queensland, Australia. During his postgraduate work, he was involved with research at NASA White Sands Test Facility, where he performed Promoted Combustion tests using an ultrasonic measurement system that he helped developed. He has also worked for Air Liquide in Paris, France, and for the University of Queensland as a Reduced Gravity Test Engineer, where he conducted experiments on board NASA's Reduced Gravity Test Aircraft based in Houston, Texas.
Gwenael is WHA Test Facility Manager where he also conducts the Promoted Combustion and Oxygen Index testing of metallic materials and coordinates the Autogenous Ignition Testing. He is also involved in WHA Oxygen Hazard and Risk Assessments and with the design and operation of non-standard customer-specific testing.
